dollywatson evolved from dollywaffles, once I came to the realisation that the git above me is Sherlock, and I’m her Watson. dollywaffles was my name until very recently, and it’s a conglomeration of names. Dolly (a name that I’m beginning to become accustomed to answering to on and off the internet) came from gaiaonline (you shut your face right now), where I was nymphet Dolly for a while. That name was inspired by Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov. The “waffles” bit came from a friend at uni, who dubbed me Princess Waffles (the progression apparently went waffles -> syrup -> maple -> maple leaves -> Canada. I’m half-Canadian, so. Logic?)
When I came to tumblr, I combined the two.
Shady Oaks was the name of the house I grew up in, surrounded by woods. I have no idea why it HAD a name in the first place, but it did. Since this was meant to be a mori girl focused blog, I felt it fit.
